Why use a password generator?
Weak passwords are the leading cause of account takeovers. This generator creates genuinely random passwords that are practically impossible to guess. Unlike passwords made up by hand, which tend to follow predictable patterns, these come from your browser's cryptographic random number generator.
When to use the password generator
Online accounts
Create a unique password for every account — email, social media, online banking and streaming services.
Wi-Fi and routers
Generate a strong password for your home or office Wi-Fi network and keep intruders out.
Company systems
Administrators can generate secure temporary passwords for new employees or new systems.
Codes and tokens
Generate random strings to use as access codes, API tokens or configuration keys.
How it works
Set the password length with the slider (4 to 64 characters). Turn character sets on or off: lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols — at least one always stays on, so the password always matches what the screen says. A new password is generated on every change. The strength meter shows whether it is weak, medium, strong or very strong, and Copy puts it on your clipboard.
